Book Sales
Spring Book Sale
Date: Saturday, May 18th.
Time: Noon- 5pm
Location: Outside the Downtown Library (224 Church Street)
We’re holding our Spring Book Sale on May 18th of this year! From 12 until 5 p.m., we will be selling bargain-priced books; from great bestsellers to books on outdoor adventures, from cooking and gardening to science fiction and fantasy. Even vintage and collectible books! While you’re here you can enjoy a special visit from Penny Ice Creamery and Pleasure Pizza, or look at local contributions to the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History for their latest Pop-Up Museum. Feel free to contribute your own piece for the Pop-Up Museum by creating an Altered Book, whether it be painted, sculpted, collaged, or crafted – just be creative! The event starts at noon at the parking lot outside the Downtown Public Library (224 Church Street). Bring the whole family and enjoy what our community has to offer.
The charge to use a scanning device at Friends Book Sales is $20.
Thank you to our two new Business Sponsors for bringing our Spring Book Sale to the Santa Cruz Community
About Friends Book Sales
The Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries hold a few big book sales every year. The books and media sold are the crème de la crème of the library donations, from fiction to children’s books, audio books to CD’s (sorry, no vinyl). Our non-fiction covers subjects from A-Z: cookbooks, crafts, foreign languages and gardening, health & well-being, poetry, religion & spirituality, travel, reference, sports & games, and humor! We also have an impressive selection of vintage books, including some real treasures of antiquity.
“I’ve been looking for this book all over the world. I found it in London for £800. I paid $2 today!”
