Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries support the Santa Cruz Public Libraries through fundraising, volunteer services, and advocacy.
Nine of our ten Santa Cruz Public Library Branches have been renovated or rebuilt since 2016. These critical improvements were possible thanks to support from your Measure S tax dollars and the Friends’ Realizing the Promise campaign which has so far raised over a million dollars.
We welcome you to join us in supporting our libraries.

A wide range of opportunities include joining your local Friends Chapter or contributing to library support, literacy programs, working with children, or special projects.

Our Community Reads
Our Community Reads is one of our most loved annual programs. For over a month, readers throughout the county engage with the selected book on many levels. The program consists of book discussions, concerts, film presentations, art workshops, photographic workshops, and often an opportunity to engage with the author directly. Stay tuned for the 2025 selection.
