Fun for everyone! Follow the pages around the Scotts Valley Library’s patio on this self-guided stroll and read a beautifully illustrated story along the way. The Keeper of Wild Words by Brooke Smith is presented for your enjoyment by the Friends of the Scotts Valley Library during the month of June.
The author uses her writing skills to gently share her voice about nature’s “lost” words. The story is intended to memorialize the dozens of natural words – poppy, lavender, monarch, violet – cut from the Oxford Junior Dictionary. Smith’s picture book follows an intergenerational duo on a hunt to find various words’ real-world signifiers.
